DEVANAGARI CALLIGRAPHY

The term "Devanagari" originates from the Sanskrit words (Deva + Nagari) 'Deva' meaning 'God' and 'Nagari' meaning 'City/Town', literally translating to 'City of Gods' or 'Script of Gods'. This name reflects its significance in religious and literary texts, including poetry, drama, temple inscriptions, and religious scriptures in Sanskrit.

Devanagari serves as the primary script for writing Sanskrit, Hindi, Oriya, Gujarati, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Marathi, Nepali, and Bengali languages.
